The Hewitt Police Department and the Hewitt Public Library announces a joint community partnership. Both departments are working to connect senior citizens to information about library services, public safety and crime prevention, and other important community topics. A police-library partnership will create positive relationships within the community. This partnership will allow seniors to stay connected to city services and current events.
Chad Kasting will discuss the Criminal Investigation Department at the Hewitt Police
The Third Annual Guns N Hoses Softball Game will be at 10 a.m. May 3 at the Midway Little League Field, 900 W. Panther Way In Hewitt. The Hewitt Police Department will face the Hewitt Fire Department in a competitive and friendly softball game. Cash donations will be accepted to benefit Brazos Meadows Church, United Methodist Church of Hewitt and First Baptist Church of Hewitt.
Each of these church groups assists families who are in need. These families are screened, and if they qualify, the church will assist in what is needed. The United Methodist Church also has a food pantry to serve the Hewitt area.
Local businesses can sponsor the event by making a $50 donation. Sponsors receive logo recognition on event T-shirts and exposure through social media and in the April issue of the Hewitt Express magazine. A $150 sponsorship is also available and includes all of the benefits of the $50 level plus four Guns N Hoses event T-shirts. Donated items are also accepted, and businesses making donations will be recognized by the announcer at the game.
To donate or be a sponsor, call Officer Thompson at (254) 666-1661 or the Hewitt Fire Department at (254) 666-0460.
